Reflective Wolf Yoga

An Alternative Way of Looking at Pain.

Reflective Wolf Yoga is about connecting the mind and the body. Primarily, we use movement to channel a reflective mindset in order to manage physical and mental pain. We all have pain in our lives and how we handle it determines our quality of life. I for one choose to challenge the constructs of pain and seek to elevate my life even with my fibromyalgia.

At Reflective Wolf Yoga, we use yoga mats, chairs, props, and alternative/modified poses in addition to standard poses. Our bodies don’t look or feel the same universally and neither should our practices be treated the same. We come together to find what is right for us as individuals in the present moment.

At Reflective Wolf Yoga, we hope to inspire a paradigm of change, where yoga is seen as more than poses, and pain is not a limitation but a sign. We view both yoga and pain as methods of communication and opportunities for growth.

Not everyone has access to the latest equipment. I don’t. However, I bet you have a pillow and a blanket. If taking the stairs causes loud sensations in your knees than grab a chair and follow along seated. It’s not slacking, it is listening to your body’s signals.

Laughing is Serious Business.

Do you need help staying motivated and reaching your fitness goals? Community and laughing help me stay motivated. I may be tenacious but I still need your help to achieve my goals. Together we can laugh and play our way to our individual objectives.

Modifications are Personalizations

Our bodies are unique to us with some overlap with others. So we can all look at the same regimen and follow along to our individual skill sets. Whether you can touch your toes with your fingers or use a strap we can all strive to stretch the same muscles.

Meet Your Teacher

A little bit about me.

Yoga is a natural talent of mine, which I am grateful for since it has been the best medicine I have found for fibromyalgia. Something else I naturally have. Fibromyalgia is what lead me to move my body in ways I later found out were yoga poses.

My first yoga class was offered by my high school guidance counselor as an after school program. I later took classes in College, at Portland State University in Oregon, but I really found yoga and my drive for more in Little Rock, Arkansas at a little studio called Big Rock Yoga.

That’s when I grew serious about changing my relationship with my body and the pain I experience. I accepted and was officially diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2018. I’m one of the few diagnosed that have lived with Fibromyalgia my whole life. I

My passion exploded in 2019 at Treehouse Yoga Studio in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The next town we lived in. (My husband and I like to travel a lot. Find more about that at MiVagari.Weebly.com)

It was at Treehouse I was encouraged to seek out yoga teacher training (YTT). Which I did while living outside Denver, Colorado from White Crow Yoga Studio based out of Tennesee. I went for my 200-hour Register Yoga Training (completed) and 300-hour training (In-progress) during the summer of 2020.
